Call of Duty: Warzone Cheaters Will Be Forced To Play Together

Infinity Ward is taking down cheaters in Call of Duty: Warzone by forcing them onto their own distinct servers, away from the general population of Modern Warfare players. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare earned rave reviews for its back-to-basics approach to multiplayer combat, eschewing the high-flying acrobatics of later Black Ops titles and opting for the "boots on the ground" mentality that made the series a household name in the first place. Earlier this year, developer Infinity Ward added Warzone mode to the game, a 150-player battle royale with its own unique twists on the "last team standing" formula that has dominated online multiplayer games for the past several years.

While finding cheaters and banning them is a cat and mouse game, there are always new updates being rolled out to further prevent cheaters from joining online or measures in place to help players issue a report. With Call of Duty: Warzone being not only a free-to-play video game but a successful one there’s bound to be plenty of cheaters logging online. Those cheaters that are banned or will be banned in the near future will soon get a chance to enjoy the game once again.

Unfortunately, the mode has been under attack by cheaters on PC, who use illegal tactics like aimbots to get an unfair advantage. After months of letting these players effectively ruin the game, Infinity Ward is finally cracking down on cheaters by banishing them to their own unique servers, as recently mentioned on Twitter. If the system works properly, Call of Duty: Warzone cheaters will only be able to play with other offenders, allowing regular players to enjoy the game without being hassled by pesky cheaters. Starting this week, players in Warzone and Modern Warfare who report suspected cheating will be given in-game confirmation as to whether that player has been banned. On top of that, Infinity Ward revealed matchmaking has been updated to match suspected cheaters together.

The company has also committed to ‘increased resources across backend tech, studio, and enforcement teams’ in a bid to clamp down on the cheaters.Infinity Ward’s announcement comes after a report last week found that many Warzone console players were attempting to get out of crossplay altogether in a bid to avoid the number of cheaters causing havoc on the PC version of the game.
